Opening up the house
The goal was one continuous, finished interior instead of a patchwork of rooms. Josh planned the work so every trade moved in sequence: plumbing and prep first, then floors, then baths and finish carpentry.
Forgeline GC is led on site by Joshua Mittag — 15 years in construction, certified Elite Crete installer, and the partner builders and homeowners call when a renovation is too big or too specialized to hand off.
Whether you're a builder who needs overflow capacity or an owner planning a major remodel, Josh takes the full scope — permits, structure, systems and finishes — with Forgeline’s own full-time crew, under one contract and one schedule.
Every person on a Forgeline job is hired by Forgeline and works for Forgeline full time. No subcontractors, no day-labor crews, no strangers on your site.
Subcontracting is a hope: hope the next crew shows up, hope they care, hope the quality holds. We don’t build on hope. We build with our own people, trained on our standards and accountable to Josh on every project.
One person answers for everything. With no subs to point fingers at, Josh takes complete responsibility for your timeline and your quality — from the first day to the final walkthrough. If something slips, it’s ours to fix, and we fix it.
Materials you can count on. Over 15 years, Josh has built trusted supplier relationships that get us the best quality materials, delivered when the schedule needs them — not weeks late.
15 years in construction. Specialist in flooring and custom design work. On site for every Forgeline project.
His background spans general construction, flooring, decorative concrete and custom artistic finishes. That combination means the same person planning the framing and mechanical work is also the one who knows exactly how the final surfaces should look — and how to get them there.
Before contracting, Josh built a reputation as an artist and muralist through Mittag Art & Design — an eye for detail that still shows up in every floor, wall, and finish he delivers.
Every Forgeline project gets measured against this one. A full interior renovation in Allen, managed by Josh from the plumbing behind the walls to the last reflection on the floor. Even here, Josh added an artist’s touch: a hand-set stone mosaic medallion that turns a bathroom floor into a centerpiece.

The goal was one continuous, finished interior instead of a patchwork of rooms. Josh planned the work so every trade moved in sequence: plumbing and prep first, then floors, then baths and finish carpentry.

Before any tile went up, the primary bath plumbing was rebuilt and set in place. This is the work homeowners never see, and it decides whether a remodel lasts.

Hardwood runs continuously through the living areas, halls and bedrooms. It was laid to carry cleanly through doorways, so the house reads as one space.

The primary bath was rebuilt around a walk-in shower, with black tile carried from the floor up to the ceiling and a new corner tub surround under the glass-block window.

New vanities with dark stone tops and white cabinetry, square-cut tile lines and clean transitions. Specialty finish work like this is where Josh’s flooring and design background shows.

The house was handed back finished: ready to list, ready to live in, and a working reference for the standard Forgeline brings to every project, large or small.
Josh brings an artist’s eye to every job site, big or small. A full home renovation, one bathroom floor or a garage coating: each one gets creative detail, not a cookie-cutter finish. He is also a working muralist and painter. His large-scale walls and custom pieces are available as a finish option on any Forgeline project. See more at jlmittag.com.
